Description
This SilentCloud Premium Soundproofing Mat is an extra-heavy mass-loaded vinyl (MLV) sheet engineered to block airborne noise through walls, floors and ceilings. At 2 mm thick and weighing about 5 kg/m², it adds significant mass without consuming space, making it ideal for modern soundproofing projects. Use it as an acoustic barrier behind plasterboard, under laminate flooring or over floor joists to create quieter living and working spaces.
• **High-density MLV material:** Each mat is loaded with naturally occurring minerals, providing a mass of 5 kg/m² to effectively block and reduce airborne noise across a wide frequency range. Its performance is comparable to lead of the same mass but without the environmental concerns.
• **Ultra‑slim profile:** At only 2 mm thick, the mat adds mass without significantly raising floor levels or wall thickness.
• **Notable noise reduction:** One layer can achieve an insulation value of around 24 dB; stacking two or three layers increases noise reduction to 29–32 dB, depending on installation conditions (results vary by structure).
• **Versatile installation:** Suitable for floors, walls and ceilings in residential and commercial settings. It can be laid under carpets, wood or laminate flooring, stapled or screwed between studs or joists, or hung as a curtain behind acoustic plasterboard.
• **Sustainable & safe:** Manufactured from pre- and post-industrial waste sources, the material is 100 % recyclable and free from PVC, plasticisers, stabilisers, lead and bitumen.
• **Easy to handle:** Flexible and simple to cut with a utility knife; combine with SilentCloud Acoustic Mineral Wool, isolation strips or Tecsound membranes for enhanced performance.
