32mm Acoustic Overlay Board

The SilentCloud 32 is a cost-effective and versatile floor panel designed to enhance rigidity and minimize impact noise transmission. Whether used as a structural floor or overlay board, it delivers superior sound insulation for separating floors.

Constructed with a 22mm High Density P5 Moisture Resistant tongued and grooved chipboard, the SilentCloud 32 features a 10mm SilentFeltTM resilient layer. This combination ensures exceptional sound insulation properties.

This panel accommodates various surfaces, including concrete, existing timber floors, or direct installation over joists up to 600mm. Its straightforward installation process makes it a convenient choice, accommodating wider joist centers.

Installation

1. Lay the SilentCloud 32 in a broken bond pattern, using Silent-10 Joist Strips directly over joists.
2. Glue all tongue and groove joints using Silent-Bond Panel Adhesive.
3. Leave a 10-15mm expansion gap around perimeters, using Silent-Seal 20 Perimeter Seal.
4. Use Silent-RD Flanking Strip for acoustic isolation or perimeter detail per Robust Detail instructions.
5. Use Silent-Grommet Fixing Isolators sparingly at door thresholds or access hatches.
6. Avoid using fixings that may restrict the floating floor.
7. Fit skirting a few millimeters clear of the floor surface.
