Description
Our 6mm recycled rubber acoustic underlay achieves up to 74dB impact noise reduction — the highest performance of any 6mm underlay in its class. Manufactured from high-density recycled rubber crumb, it is the recommended choice for flat owners, developers, and contractors requiring meaningful noise reduction or Building Regulations Part E compliance.

Why 6mm Outperforms Thinner Underlays
At 6mm, our rubber underlay achieves 74dB ΔLw — significantly higher than 3mm products (typically 50-54dB). For serious noise problems, flats, or Part E compliance, 6mm is the minimum we recommend.
Building Regulations Part E
Our 6mm rubber underlay contributes to achieving the required Part E targets when used as part of a complete floor assembly: New build: DnT,w ≥ 45dB / L'nT,w ≤ 62dB. Conversion: DnT,w ≥ 43dB / L'nT,w ≤ 64dB.
Installation Guide
- Prepare substrate — clean, level, dry.
- Lay underlay, butting joins tightly — no gaps, no overlaps.
- Turn up 10mm at all perimeters.
- Tape all joins with acoustic tape.
- Lay floor finish as a floating floor — no rigid fixings through the underlay.
- Trim perimeter, seal with acoustic sealant, fit skirting.
